Students, alumni and friends in the community are all welcome to join us in celebrating Sara’s Bat-Mitzvah on the Sunday evening of Thanksgiving Weekend, November 30th, 5-7pm. This is actually the exact date of her 12th Hebrew birthday, the 9th of Kislev, which begins that evening after nightfall.

A buffet dinner will be served, there will be a short but meaningful program with a presentation by Sara as its centerpiece, and a dessert buffet to follow.

The 9th of Kislev is significant in Chabad, as it is both the birthday and yartzeit of Rabbi Dovber, the 2nd Rebbe of Chabad, known as the Mittler Rebbe. Sara’s presentation will be based on 12 stories and lessons and images based on his life and teachings. With the help of her parents and siblings, Sara prepared 12 mixed-media canvases that each convey or reflect one of these stories or teachings.

Those driving over are kindly asked to park at the University’s nearby Dutch Quad Gold Student Lot. In the event of a sports game and sports parking, you can park further up in the same Dutch Quad Gold Lot.
