The 9th annual Jewish Womens Spa for the Body & Soul was held this year at Shabbos House and was a wonderful event and an amazing success. Nearly 150 women from a broad community spectrum and students from UAlbany, Union College and Albany Med all came together. Thanks to all who invested time and talent to make this event so special, and the many womens groups from around the area who co-sponsored and worked tirelessly on this event.
The event began with Spa treatments at 1pm that included chair and table massages, facials and nail art, paraffin treatments and more.
The luncheon, on a very elegant buffet, featured a soup bar, salad bar and pasta bar with plenty of delicious desserts.
An auction raffled off prizes including gift packages from Schmaltz Brewery, The Honest Weight Food Co-op, jewelry from Shadora online, scrapbooking kit from Stamp-It-Up and much more.
The feature presentation was singer Sarah Hecht (who also sold copies of her new CD “Pieces”) who really uplifted the crowd with a variety of Jewish songs in Hebrew and English old classics and her own compositions. She was dynamic, warm and talented. There was an amazing energy in the room!
One of the highlights of the event was seeing so many women from different parts of the community, students getting to meet and mingle with community women… the coming together was very special.
Pictures coming soon!
