It is a very busy time with finals and graduation. Obviously, not all these events will work for everyone. But for those who can, and would like to enjoy these special times as a campus community before the year’s end, here’s a bunch of things going on, sometimes several events per day. 

Sunday 5/5:

Rosh Chodesh Minyan Brunch

Monday 5/6:

12-4pm Israel-Fest around the Small Fountain run by Great Danes for Israel

Tuesday 5/7:

Hillel Schmoozeday in Interfaith Center 11am-2pm

Torah-Tuesday on “Honoring Parents” with dinner at 5:45pm only (salmon, sushi-salad, chip-salad-bar, desserts). 

Judaic Studies hosts Queens College history professor for a talk on “Blood Libels and the Holocaust” 7pm in Campus Center Assembly Hall (2nd floor). 

Wed 5/8:

Hillel’s 2-4pm Sushi-Making at Interfaith Center

Midnight Breakfast at Shabbos House 10pm-Midnight with all types of breakfast foods and treats over a film and chill time.

Thurs 5/9:

Hillel’s Farewell Brunch 12pm-2pm in the Campus Center Boardroom (above Starbucks, across SORC). 

Friday 5/10:

“Shabbat in Tzfat” the last Shabbat dinner (aside for graduation weekend) at Shabbos House, prayers 7pm and dinner 8pm. Virtual visit to Tzfat is the theme this week! 

Shabbat 5/11:

Minyan 10am, Lunch 12:30pm. It’s the last regular season Shabbat Lunch!

On Sat Night Hillel is having a year-end semi-formal in the Multipurpose Room in the Campus Center, starting after Shabbat around 9pm. 

Sunday 5/12:

the last Minyan Brunch of the year at 10:45am;

the annual Grad Party Farewell to Class of 2019 is 5-7pm at Shabbos House – all welcome as we honor and bid farewell to the seniors!

Wednesday 5/15:

Most will be done with finals, some still hanging around. There’s been a request for another round of Shtisel episodes. We’ll start 7pm with dinner and a watch marathon. 

Friday 5/17:

Graduation Weekend Shabbat! Families very welcome! Prayers 7pm, Dinner 8pm.

Shabbat 5/18:

Minyan time TBD as we have a parents saying Kaddish with a 9am ceremony so stay tuned. Lunch 12:30 or so and onward, revolving door as people come and go to and and from their ceremonies. Near end of Shabbat evening meal at 7pm. Shabbos ends: 

Sunday 5/19:

Graduation Day! Open-house BBQ at Shabbos House after main commencement ceremonies from about 11:30am until about 2 or 3pm.
