The Haftorah for the 8th day of Pesach speaks of “the spirit of G-d will rest upon him (Moshiach), a spirit of wisdom, a spirit of understanding…” and other attributes bestowed upon Moshiach.

When we take the Torahs out on a holiday, there’s a special prayer said in which we mention our own names and the names of our families. And in that prayer it mentions these very same attributes the verse bestows on Moshiach and asks that they be fulfilled in each of us.

Wait! Are these special attributes for Moshiach or are these accessible for everyone?

The Rebbe explains that both are true. Just like economics or politics, there’s the macro and micro levels.

The Macro Moshiach is the global version, a great leader who will uplift and transform all the Jewish people and ultimately all of humanity. The Micro Moshiach is within each of us. We each have the mission and potential to discover redemption within ourselves and apply it to our own lives, and help uplift those around us. As with economics, cumulative effort of many micros affects and changes the macro picture. Our collective Micro Moshiachs help bring the ultimate global Macro Moshiach of Jewish history.
