Shabbat is special every week, of course, but this first week of January 2021, when we were all hopeful for 2020 to start to fade, makes us especially especially (not a typo!) appreciate Shabbat. It’s a day to tune out from all the upsetting and ugly noise and news and negativity, and tune-in internally, to a space that’s positive, meaningful and holy, or at very least a day of rest. This rejuvenates us to be able to go back into the world for the coming week to embrace our mission, to deal with life’s challenges, and whatever we can do to make this world a better place.
