Exciting second Saturday of the Spring 2017 Semester! Hillel Dinner on Friday Night on campus, two exciting events at Shabbos House on Saturday.
SEPHARDIC LUNCH
Thanks to students who looked up family recipes and prepped foods at Shabbos House, we’re serving a bunch of Sephardic foods and dishes at Shabbat Lunch this week. (Friday Night dinner is with Hillel this week in the UAlbany Campus Center). We don’t have a finalized menu yet, (we need to have ingredient lists to shop before Thursday) but we’re excited to try different foods and have this experience. We’ll sing some Sephardic songs, too!
Lunch usually begins around 12:30/45pm, following the weekly Shabbat morning Minyan (student-friendly, traditional, informal) at 10am. You can come for Minyan and Lunch, come later for Minyan, or just for Lunch, either is fine. Students do combinations of these things all the time.
SAT NIGHT JAMMING NIGHT
First Jamming night of the Spring semester. Bring an instrument or bring yourself, come and enjoy! 7:30-9pm, with kosher pizza and nosh, we’ll make Havdalah, and have a good time, with time enough to go out afterwards. We are eager for some new musicians, and given the pay-scale (LOL) we’re not that picky, amateurs very welcome to play a song they know, no worries or stress, it’s all between friends!
