Here’s what’s in store for the last Shabbos of August 2014:
As we alternate Friday Night dinner between Shabbos House Chabad and UAlbany Hillel, this weekend Shabbat dinner will be hosted by UAlbany Hillel on the 3rd floor of the Campus Center. It’s the first Hillel dinner of the semester!
Prayers this time of year are at 7pm, and dinner is at 8pm. (the food is prepared at Dutch Kosher Dining under Vaad Kosher supervision). While we did meet many freshmen this past Friday Night we look forward to celebrating with more new & old faces this weekend now that everyone’s back and classes have begun.
This is Mushky’s last Shabbos here before she leaves for a year of study in Israel.
Shabbat morning is back at Shabbos House as always. Shabbos morning prayers 10am. This week is the anniversary of Aaron W’s Bar-Mitzvah and he’ll be reading the whole Torah portion of Shoftim. We’ll have a pre-Torah Kiddush in honor of Aaron’s Bar-Mitzvah anniversary.
Shabbat Lunch follows at approx 12:30pm. Chassidim don’t say goodbye, but as this is Mushky’s last Shabbos before she leaves for Israel, We’ll have a light end-of-Shabbos meal at 7:15pm, with Pirkei Avot study of chapter 6, followed by Maariv and Havdalah.
