SHABBAT NOV 8/9 2013…

Once DST (Daylight Savings Time) ends, we change the Friday Night Shabbat schedule at UAlbany to 7pm Dinners (instead of 8pm) and 6pm Prayers (instead of the 7pm time). Make note of this change, the first weekend or two are always harder for people to remember. We keep the 7pm dinner schedule (regardless the actual Shabbat start-time) until mid-Spring when DST kicks back in again.

FALL-BACK is a good Shabbat theme, as we try to provide a good Shabbat experience and Jewish campus community to fall back on!

As this Shabbat falls between Kristallnacht and Veterans Day we may try to arrange a Holocaust survivor or WWII veteran to join us for the dinner.

SHABBAT LUNCH SPECIAL: On Sat Nov 9th, Gabe B. who will be graduating this December will share tidbits of his father’s memoir about Growing up as a Sephardic Jew in Tangiers, a city with rich Jewish history in northern Morocco.

As usual, Shabbat morning prayers are at 10am, followed by lunch at approx. 12:30 or 12:45pm.
