April 2016 at a Glance, busy season with Passover, 4Fs, Israel Fest, Lchaim elections and many other events planned, some events below have links for additional info.

April 1-3, Friday-Sunday: We went with a group to the #upstateNYshabbaton with @chabadoncampus at Oneonta. See here for list of reasons why we looked forward to going, and see here for list of 14 takeaway messages and experiences upon our return home.

April 3, Sunday: UAlbany Hillel Student Group elections in LC 21. We congratulate the new Hillel Board and look forward to the year ahead!

April 5, Tuesday: It’s THAT Torah-Tues class. Mendel with the guys, Raizy with the girls, discussing intimacy in marriage from a Jewish perspective. Be ready for an open, frank discussion.

April 7, Thursday: Jewish Federation hosts Andrew Lustig speaking at Nanotech. It’s a communal event with special student rate. See the UAlbany Hillel FB invite page for this event, to RSVP and for more info. (Raizy is catering the reception food).

April 8, Friday: Shabbat Dinner at Shabbos House. Prayers 7pm, Dinner 8pm. Last one at Shabbos House before Passover.

April 9, Saturday: Minyan and Shabbos Lunch as usual. Special this week will be a baby-naming at the Torah and special foods and guests at Shabbos Lunch for a granddaughter of the neighbor where we do Tashlich each Rosh Hashanah.

April 10, Sunday: AEPI is doing the St. Baldricks’ fundraiser again, 12-3pm in Campus Center Room 375.

April 12, Tuesday: Spoiler Alert! Torah-Tues on “Inside-Out” Jewish perspectives and discussion on the life insightful Disney-Pixar film. Please email us your insights to this film if you want them included.

April 13, Wednesday: 4F’s: Felafel, Fries, Fruit & Film – showing “The Green Prince” a true story spy thriller documentary filled with personal drama and intrigue. 8pm light dinner, 8:30pm film start. This event is co-sponsored by Great Danes for Israel, UAlbany Hillel and Shabbos House – at Shabbos House.

April 15, Friday: Last Shabbat before Passover. Hillel Dinner 8pm. Prayers precede at 7pm.

April 16, Saturday: Sheva Brachos for UAlbany alumnus Genna (Friedman) and Michael Kugler at Shabbos Lunch – at SH. Help us celebrate with them.

April 17, Sunday: Cultural Carnival on campus. Look for Lchaim’s Pre-Passover game booth.

April 17, Sunday: Lchaim Executive Board elections. If you’d like an application to run for an E-board position or to sign-up for G-Board position, please contact Grant H. president, any board member etc.

April 19, Tuesday: Israel Fest at the Small Fountain! Brought to campus by UAlbany Hillel, Great Danes for Israel and other orgs, this year’s theme has an artistic focus and some cool activities and guests are planned. 12-4pm, stay tuned!

April 22-30: PASSOVER! – Yes, we’re hosting the Seders, as well as an abbreviated “Seder within a Seder” and a bunch of Passover holiday meals. Please see this link for more info as well as the sign-up form.
