This week is the anniversary of my Bar-Mitzvah Parsha, more than a decade ago. The speech I said then remains just as relevant today as it was then. Thanks to Rabbi Silton for giving me the idea to work with, as I prepared for my Bar-Mitzvah.

Parshat Balak is all about a war of words. Balak tried to fight the Jewish People not with physical force but with Bilaam’s curses. This shows how importance words are in conflict, and how much can be built or destroyed using words alone even without any display of force. We see this in Israel’s conflicts today. While violence and arms is a huge part of it, the propoganda war is no less important.

Words matter!
